About The Position

The Smart Grid Network Analyst position is a 1-year contract role with Utlities, focusing on the planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of Smart Grid RF network infrastructure. The role involves ensuring network performance and reliability, updating equipment, and evaluating new hardware and software. This position requires a high level of technical competency in Smart Grid / Grid Modernization and network fields, including basic switching, routing, DNS/DHCP, and Smart Grid RF networking hardware.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent IT discipline (MIS) from an accredited college/university
• At least one associate level certification (i.e. Cisco Certified Network Associate, CompTIA Network +, Certified Wireless Network Administrator).
• Minimum of 2 years of Smart Grid Network Analyst experience with SCADA
• 4 years of related hands-on experience implementing and maintaining networks
• High level of technical competency in the Smart Grid / Grid Modernization and network field
• Basic switching, routing, DNS/DHCP, Smart Grid RF networking hardware installation and maintenance
• USC and GC work authorization
• Tampa Located candidates

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and implement Smart Grid RF network infrastructure based on project requirements, capacity plans, and system support, including maintenance of all required documentation: settings, configurations, equipment and site records.
• Plan, organize, and coordinate Smart Grid RF network equipment installation and support work and configure equipment for installation.
• Detect and correct Smart Grid RF network performance and reliability issues by monitoring network using Network Management System.
• Update SmartGrid RF network equipment firmware and configurations as needed / required.
• Define specifications for, evaluate, and test new hardware and/or software for SmartGrid RF networks.
