About The Position

This role focuses on the design, development, testing, maintenance, and optimization of smart contracts. The engineer will research and evaluate relevant technologies, develop prototype solutions, and collaborate with a team to translate functional requirements into technical specifications. A strong emphasis is placed on software security through defensive programming and the Principle of Least Privilege, especially in the context of blockchains. The position involves documenting developed software, sharing knowledge with junior developers, and collaborating on technical issues and new product development. Adherence to standard dev-ops practices and SDLC principles is expected, along with contributing to best practices, conventions, and tool selection. The role also includes ensuring adequate code reviews and upholding technical standards, as well as working with Project Managers and stakeholders on goals, planning, and delivery roadmaps.

Requirements

  • Holds a university degree and or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent technical skills and familiarity with wide array of technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, maintain and optimize all smart contracts.
  • Research & evaluate relevant technologies and develop prototype solutions.
  • Work with team to gather functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications. This includes interfacing with project managers, business analysts and end users.
  • Ensure software security by adopting a defensive approach to software development (both happy and unhappy paths) and Principle of Least Privilege (especially as this comes to blockchains).
  • Document developed software by providing appropriate developer docs, architecture diagrams and user guides.
  • Share knowledge with junior developers and help newcomers quickly onboard into the team.
  • Collaborate with other team members on resolving technical issues, improving current products and developing new ones.
  • Follow standard dev-ops practices and SDLC principles. (where applicable)
  • Help establish best practices, conventions and selection of development tools.
  • Ensure adequate code reviews are conducted and technical standards are upheld.
  • Work with Project Managers and stakeholders on goals, planning and delivery roadmaps.
