About The Position

This is work in the maintenance and repair of small tools, equipment and engines. The work involves responsibility for keeping small power tools, engines and other assigned equipment in good repair. When repairs are needed, the incumbent returns the equipment to service quickly and economically. Employees in this class are responsible for performing engine troubleshooting, tracking equipment preventive maintenance schedules and monitoring shop repairs and maintenance. The responsibilities also include overseeing inventory and the ordering of parts, tools and other miscellaneous items. Specific assignments are received verbally or in writing and work is performed under limited supervision.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four (4) years verifiable experience in diagnosing, maintaining and repairing a variety of small tools and equipment associated with industrial, commercial and the trades environment; OR any combination of education and experience sufficient to provide the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Possession of a valid Washington State Driver License
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, a valid WISHA compliant forklift certification.
