About The Position

Scout Boats is seeking an experienced and motivated Small Parts Lamination Supervisor to lead daily production activities within our Small Parts Lamination department. This position is responsible for supervising employees, maintaining production schedules, ensuring quality standards are met, and promoting a safe, efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in fiberglass, composite, marine, or similar manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of fiberglass lamination and composite manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to read and understand production instructions, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to safely work around fiberglass, resins, chemicals, dust, noise, and production equipment.
  • Must be dependable, safety-minded, and able to lead by example.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and work in various positions.
  • Ability to lift and move materials and components as required.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, direct, and coordinate daily activities of the Small Parts Lamination team.
  • Ensure fiberglass and composite components are produced according to specifications, drawings, and established quality standards.
  • Monitor lamination, layup, resin application, bonding, curing, and finishing processes.
  • Assign work, monitor productivity, and ensure production goals and schedules are achieved.
  • Train, coach, and develop employees on proper lamination techniques, procedures, quality requirements, and safety practices.
  • Inspect completed parts for quality, consistency, structural integrity, and workmanship.
  • Identify and resolve production and quality issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure proper use and availability of materials, tools, and production equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while enforcing company safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate production needs, quality concerns, staffing issues, and other department matters to management.
  • Work closely with other production departments to ensure smooth workflow and on-time delivery of components.
  • Assist with process improvements designed to increase productivity, reduce waste, and improve quality.
  • Maintain accurate production and employee records as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
