About The Position

Determines the extent of necessary repairs and performs service for mechanical malfunctions on push and riding lawn mowers, chain saws, tillers, weed eaters, and related power equipment. This role requires a minimum of six months of previous engine repair experience and the ability to work full-time. The mechanic will also be responsible for customer communication, parts ordering, warranty documentation, and maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Additionally, the role involves setting up new equipment, stocking merchandise, and assisting customers with loadouts.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of six months previous engine repair required.
  • Ability to work full-time.
  • Ability to be “Tow Motor” certified.
  • Physically able to manipulate bolts, nuts, or other fasteners for purposes of disassembly and reassembly of equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of products.
  • Consistent attendance for regularly scheduled work shifts is required.

  • Certified training preferred.
  • Overnight travel stays required on occasion to attend supplier’s certification courses.

Responsibilities

  • Determine the extent of necessary repairs and perform service for mechanical malfunctions on various power equipment.
  • Communicate product information clearly and effectively to customers.
  • Review equipment manuals and warranties accurately.
  • Place special orders for required parts.
  • Maintain sales logbooks and complete warranty documentation for vendors like Stihl and Cub Cadet.
  • Contact customers for repair approval after determining the extent of repair needed.
  • Follow Safety Compliance procedures, including wearing safety glasses and proper fuel storage.
  • Maintain a neat, safe, and well-organized shop and storage areas.
  • Set up and assemble new equipment.
  • Stock merchandise, unload semis, retrieve carts, maintain the lot, and help customers with loadouts.
  • Use hand and power tools as needed.
  • Tolerate exposure to hazardous chemicals such as gasoline, oil, and carburetor cleaner.
  • Perform disassembly and reassembly of equipment.
  • Engage customers to sell products.
  • Maintain consistent attendance for regularly scheduled work shifts.
  • Complete special projects directed by management.
  • Perform other duties as required to meet business needs.
