About The Position

Nusenda Credit Union is seeking a Small Business Relationship Manager in El Paso to serve as the primary contact for small business members and prospects. This role involves developing new relationships and deepening existing ones across deposits, lending, and cash management. The position requires proactively building a pipeline through various methods such as cold calling, in-person prospecting, networking, and referral partnerships. The Small Business Relationship Manager will also assess credit needs, basic Small Business Administration (SBA) program eligibility, and collaborate with underwriters to structure loan requests. Additionally, this role acts as a point of contact for the branch network to onboard accounts, resolve issues, and enhance member experience while driving community growth.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of similar or related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field
  • Working knowledge of SBA lending programs and processes including basic eligibility and documentation requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of outbound business development, including structured cold calling, call planning, pipeline management, and use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
  • Experience in branch processes including business account opening, Know Your Customer/Customer Identification Program (KYC/CIP), online and treasury services setup.
  • Must be able to handle multiple responsibilities, meet deadlines, deal with sensitive information and handle problem resolution.
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers appropriately via in person, email etc.

  • Direct SBA production experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Executing a disciplined calling program to grow new and existing small business relationships.
  • Sourcing prospects through cold calls, centers of influence (e.g., local chamber of commerce, Certified Public Accountants etc.), community outreach, and digital research.
  • Building referral pipelines, identifying cross-sell opportunities, and positioning Nusenda products and services to meet member needs.
  • Representing the organization at community events promoting Nusenda as a preferred financial institution and workplace.
  • Pre-screening loan opportunities, interviewing applicants, gathering financial packages, and assessing SBA program fit for common requests.
  • Collaborating with small business underwriting to structure terms that provide appropriate returns and mitigate risk.
