The Small Business Lender develops new bank business relationships, primarily by lending to small businesses and small real estate investors. The lending segment is defined as loans up to $1 million for commercial and industrial loans and up to $1.5 million for real estate loans. The role also grows commercial deposits and cross-sells banking products and services, working with the Branch Manager, Credit Risk, Portfolio Manager, and Loan Processor to complete the sales and closing process. The position onboards, manages, and grows a loan portfolio; assesses and analyzes financial information to identify lending needs; and applies knowledge of cash flow and small-business operating cycles to recommend banking solutions. The lender develops customer referral strategies, builds relationships with prospective customers, negotiates credit terms, and provides guidance that helps customers make informed financial decisions. The role also supports portfolio servicing, deal review, loan documentation, and community outreach. It is accountable for generating $5–7 million in funded business banking credits annually, as well as growing deposits and fee income. This is a hybrid position.
