About The Position

This is a full-time (40-45 hours/week) remote position for a Small Business Chief Financial Officer/Controller, also known as a Fractional CFO. The role involves providing financial advisory services to a dedicated roster of up to 30 clients, primarily small law firms with gross revenues under $10 million. Requirements

Strong financial/accounting background.
Relevant business degree (emphasis in accounting/finance strongly preferred).
Hands-on experience advising under-capitalized small business owners who aren't financially literate.
Ability to explain complex FP&A data in plain English.
A massive bias for growth.
High emotional intelligence.
Confidence to hold clients accountable to their own goals.
Must reside in: AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, PA, TX, VA, WA.
Strictly full-time (40-45 hours/week).

Responsibilities

Step in as the fractional CFO/Controller for a dedicated roster of up to 30 clients (gross revenues mostly under $10MM).
Analyze financials to spot trends and risks.
Go toe-to-toe with bookkeepers to fix messy data.
Deliver hard truths to the business owner with a mix of radical candor and humor.
Focus entirely on delivery and relationship building, with no sales or marketing responsibilities.
Manage approximately 60 hours/month of client-facing time (via Zoom/phone) plus independent file preparation and internal alignment.
