About The Position

The Small Business Broker Representative serves as the primary internal business contact for the broker and consultant community, and is responsible for broker satisfaction. The key responsibilities include answering inquiries, licensing/appointment process, solving problems, training and onboarding of new brokers, aiding in the stratification of agencies, serve as point of contact for Employee Navigator and implementation of new groups. The Broker Representative is expected to consistently provide excellent customer service to brokers, as well as represent needs and goals within the organization to ensure the broker’s needs are addressed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or 2 years demonstrated account management or equivalent experience in the health care field.
  • Strong analytical skills required.
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems or resolve issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required and must be detailed oriented.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, problem solving, decision making, sound and accurate judgment, negotiation and analytical skills are required.
  • Knowledge of claims processing systems as well as experience including Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is required.
  • Ability to think and plan strategically for organizational success.

Responsibilities

  • Develops relationships with brokers and/or support staff to maximize broker relationships and growth of new opportunities.
  • Serve as internal point of contact for preferred brokers, especially those utilizing Employee Navigator.
  • Educate brokers on quoting tools (QTC), eligibility processes, and Employee Navigator compliance expectations.
  • Assists in broker stratification, strategies and communications.
  • Works with Sales Team to engage and educate brokers.
  • Proactive reachouts to schedule sales appointments with low performing brokers.
  • Conduct onboarding and training for new brokers.
  • Monitor broker-submitted data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Enforce internal thresholds for data hygiene.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to reconcile eligibility data and support EE Nav. migration efforts.
  • Assist with manual processes such as monthly commission conversions and exception handling.
  • Lead implementations of new Small Business groups.
  • Support the rollout and maintenance of Employee Navigator, including credentialing, quoting, and enrollment workflows.
  • Coordinate with Client Specialists to reduce workload strain and ensure timely follow-ups.
  • Identify inefficiencies in broker workflows and propose automation or simplification strategies.
  • Participate in long-term planning discussions, including potential elimination of manual enrollment for small groups.
  • Contribute to documentation updates and UAT scenario testing for system enhancements.
