About The Position

Establish and maintain a training program and ensure proficiency requirements set forth in the Performance Work Statement. Provide academic instruction; review and update academic and doctrinal publications; and maintain vehicles/equipment supported by academic instruction. Provide academic instruction to conduct classroom/laboratory conferences, discussions, demonstrations, and practical exercises in accordance with course material, POI, technical manuals, and student workbooks. Conduct student critiques in accordance with United States Army (USA) ODS Standard Operating Procedures. Between scheduled courses, the following tasks will be completed: making pen and ink changes to lesson plans, cross-training (attending classes), arranging and engaging in instructional preparation and testing material, reviewing and providing pen and ink changes to lesson plans to the Government for change considerations, serving as an Assistant Instructor in classes. Provide feedback at the end of the block of instruction. Assist in updating technical content of lesson material in accordance with this PWS. Participate as a subject matter expert (SME) in developing revisions of the POIs, Lesson Plans and Training Support Packages (TSPs). Provide remediation training, maintain classrooms by re-configuring/setting up classroom furnishings, sort and maintain training aides and equipment, stock training materials and equipment, and/or assist with outdoor training site maintenance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFDIC), or its equivalent within the last five (5) years with recertification requirements for the CFDIC every five (5) years
  • TRADOC Initial Military Training (IMT) Installation Staff and Contractors Course (ISCC) with ISCC refresher training every three (3) years
  • Blackboard 101 Instructor Training. The Contractor shall complete Blackboard 101 Instructor refresher training every three (3) years.
  • Minimum of three (3) years each of technical and tactical experience in small arms technical and tactical experience as evidenced by MOS's: 91F, 91G or 91K.
  • Background in the 91 F/G/K series, 2111 Small Arms Repairer/Technician, 2112 Precision Weapons Repairer/Technician, Air Force Small Arms/Armorer Technician or Navy Gunners Mate, or have completed a residential small arms repairman course or a residential Gunsmith course from an accredited institution.
  • Ability to perform Two Level Maintenance (Field Level Maintenance and Sustainment Level Maintenance) on small arms weapons to include shoulder fired weapons, handguns, machine guns, mortars and towed artillery weapons
  • Proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Excel)
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and doctrine regarding MOS or ASI-specific training
  • Written and oral communication
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent organization, planning, coordination and time management skills
  • Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Pass all hands-on and written student tests IAW the ODS Instructional Management SOP
  • Meet training, technical and tactical certification of course content
  • Minimum of three (3) years specific experience in teaching, developing or reviewing course materials, training aids, and manuals for vocational or military training
  • Proficient in basic mathematical skills up to and including roots and powers and metric notation
