About The Position

The Ericsson US 5G Smart Factory is seeking a Surface Mount Assembly (SMA) Supervisor to join the Production team within Operations, reporting to the SMA Area Manager. In this role, you will help lead the production of some of the most advanced circuit boards in the industry — the technology that powers 5G connectivity. You will oversee daily manufacturing operations, develop your team, and collaborate across departments to drive production goals, quality standards, and a strong safety culture. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of leading teams, directing workflow, improving processes, and maintaining uninterrupted production in both high-volume and new product introduction environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role
  • Solid understanding of intra-departmental functions and daily manufacturing operations
  • Demonstrated knowledge of 5S methodologies in a production environment
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Effective conflict resolution, communication, and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience promoting and maintaining a workplace safety culture
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Experience with advanced software systems in a production environment
  • Knowledge of waste reduction methods and non-conforming material processes
  • Comprehensive understanding of SMA equipment and its role in the production process

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the SMA Area Manager and Production Planning to establish daily targets aligned with customer demand
  • Monitor productivity, workflow, accuracy, and error rates across all SMA operations
  • Initiate daily production with Team Leads, including dispatching orders, printing labels, and ordering components
  • Deliver clear production status updates during daily meetings and ensure accurate end-of-shift reports
  • Communicate cross-functionally with Production, Warehouse, Maintenance, Engineering, and Quality teams
  • Drive adherence to 5S programs and maintain Inventory Accuracy KPI metrics
  • Provide insights to management to improve safety, equipment efficiency, and team productivity
  • Manage multiple departmental improvement initiatives simultaneously and ensure audit readiness
  • Provide feedback to software developers on shop floor automation projects
  • Coach and develop team members through one-on-ones and the formal talent management process
  • Partner with People Business Partners on performance improvement plans and corrective actions
  • Participate in interviewing and hiring operators; coordinate training plans with the technical trainer
  • Enforce safety procedures and proper PPE use; report incidents to Area Managers promptly
  • Serve as the point of contact during emergency events and adhere strictly to all safety, environmental, and quality guidelines
