About The Position

This position is for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in an extended year (ESY) special education program at the Bartlett School & Assessment Center. The role involves working as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide therapies for students, prepare curriculum and lessons, implement IEP goals, encourage parent involvement, and maintain records. The position is contingent on funding and student enrollment, with specific dates and hours from June 29th to August 6th, Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 2:00 pm for preschool students. The salary is $40.00/hour, prorated if the appointment is not completed. The SLP reports directly to the Summer ESY Coordinator and/or the Director of Special Education.

Requirements

• Must maintain a current license by the Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure – Allied Health Professionals.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to coordinate and work effectively with staff, parents and administration.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in extended year programs preferred.
• Bilingual Preferred.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide therapies for students in an extended year program.
• Prepare curriculum, lessons, schedules, and activities for children with and without special needs.
• Implement summer IEP and all educational classroom goals and objectives of assigned students.
• Encourage parent involvement and maintain parent contact.
• Provide support to students in the pool if requested.
• Maintain all necessary records as per school system.
• Provide a safe, healthy environment inside and outside for all children.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools and/or his/her designees, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
