About The Position

The Slot Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic gaming machines (EGMs), including slot machines and related gaming equipment. This position ensures all machines operate efficiently, securely, and in compliance with Tribal Gaming Regulations, National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) standards, and applicable federal and Tribal laws. The Slot Technician plays a critical role in minimizing downtime, supporting revenue generation, and maintaining a high-quality gaming experience for patrons.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of electronic, mechanical, and computer-based systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex technical equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Understanding of gaming regulations, internal controls, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Two (2) years of experience in electronics, mechanical repair, IT support, or gaming operations.
  • OR a combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required Tribal gaming licenses and clearances

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a casino or gaming environment.
  • Technical certification in electronics, IT, or related field.
  • Experience with slot management systems (e.g., IGT, Aristocrat, Scientific Games).
  • Familiarity with Class II gaming systems and networked gaming environments.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, test, and maintain slot machines and gaming devices.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal machine performance.
  • Replace components such as bill validators, printers, buttons, and monitors.
  • Respond promptly to machine malfunctions and service calls.
  • Identify root causes of technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Maintain detailed logs of repairs, maintenance, and machine performance.
  • Coordinate with vendors for advanced troubleshooting and parts replacement.
  • Ensure all gaming machines meet Tribal Gaming Regulatory Authority (TGRA) standards and NIGC requirements.
  • Assist with machine audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting.
  • Maintain strict adherence to internal controls, surveillance protocols, and confidentiality standards.
  • Report any suspicious activity, tampering, or irregularities immediately.
  • Assist with slot machine moves, installations, conversions, and floor reconfigurations.
  • Support gaming floor staff with technical issues impacting customer experience.
  • Participate in inventory control and parts management.
  • Assist in preparing machines for regulatory approval and licensing.
