About The Position

Boyd Gaming Corporation is a premier casino entertainment company operating successfully across various gaming jurisdictions in the United States. The Slot Technician position involves performing routine maintenance and repair on gaming machines, equipment, and hardware. This role operates under supervision and includes continued on-the-job training. Technicians are expected to handle common floor calls independently and work towards achieving full competency and proficiency. Key responsibilities include performing immediate, periodic, and overhaul maintenance on gaming machines, diagnosing and repairing machine faults, and isolating electronic faults at the board level. More complex issues are to be referred to a senior level slot technician. The role requires the ability to read, understand, and accurately apply information from repair manuals and other equipment-related materials, as well as effectively communicate using a two-way radio. Maintaining a working knowledge of new slot products and equipment is also essential.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of the mechanics, electronics, and electrical functions of gaming machines.
  • Must be able to work with various hand tools and power tools.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for duration of shift.
  • Must be able to stoop over, kneel, and crouch while repairing gaming machines.
  • Must be able to push and pull machines and maneuver weights up to 80 pounds.
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience in slots or a related field or graduate from slot repair school or similar course of study strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repair on gaming machines, equipment, and hardware under supervision and continued on-the-job training.
  • Perform common floor calls without supervision and works towards competency and proficiency.
  • Perform immediate, periodic, and overhaul maintenance on gaming machines, equipment, and hardware.
  • Repair and diagnose machine faults.
  • Isolate electronic faults at board level and refer to senior level slot technician.

  • Maintain a working knowledge of new slot products/equipment.
