About The Position

The Slot Technician role involves a high volume of customer interactions, requiring an outgoing, upbeat, and cheerful demeanor. Responsibilities include repairing and maintaining electrical and mechanical devices on and off the casino floor, assisting with the loading and unloading of slot machines and signs, performing slot machine verification, audits, and tests, and ensuring all slot machines are operational during the shift. The technician will carry out assigned projects and work assignments from Slot Management, troubleshooting, installing, and operating slot accounting systems, slot machine operations, ticket-in/ticket-out systems, and parts system maintenance. They must be able to act independently and draw conclusions from various materials and directives. The role also focuses on maintaining the appearance and performance of slot machines to improve guest impact and reduce downtime, circulating the casino floor to identify machines needing repair, and checking problem logs. The technician must be willing to attend training and learn the technical aspects of the job, assist with installation and conversion projects, test machines for proper functioning, and participate in the installation, movement, and removal of slot-related equipment. This includes performing RAM Clears/Key Chips, complex repairs using shop tools, soldering, and electronic testing equipment. Maintaining proper gaming logs to comply with regulations, understanding Title 31 guidelines and suspicious activity reports (SARC), and adhering to ethical policies are crucial. The technician will handle routine customer complaints and incidents, exercising discretion to involve supervisory personnel when necessary, and aiming to resolve situations positively. A flexible schedule, including late nights, weekends, and holidays, is required, with potential for shift changes. Other duties as assigned by management may also be part of the role.

Requirements

  • Ability to repair and maintain electrical and / or mechanical devices both on and off the Casino Floor.
  • Ability to act independently while drawing conclusions from written, computer generated materials or company received directives.
  • Must be willing to go to any training as designated by management.
  • Must be willing and have the ability to learn the technical aspects of the job.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule as required by business operations, including late nights, weekends, and holidays; shifts may change.

  • Test machines to determine proper functioning.
  • Participate in installation, movement and removal of slot related equipment.
  • Assist with full and partial RAM Clears / Key Chips on all existing platforms on the Slot Floor as part of the daily preventative maintenance program or as part of a specific project.
  • Frequently performing maintenance and complex repair beyond standard level while safely and effectively operating shop tools including powered tools, soldering and electronic testing equipment.
  • Maintain proper gaming logs in order to comply with state or internal regulations.
  • Be familiar with Title 31 guidelines, and understand and utilize suspicious activity reports for casinos (SARC) when necessary.
  • Adhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies in an ethical manner, and encourage others to do the same.
  • Handle routine customer complaints and incidents, and exhibit the appropriate discretion to identify situations requiring the attention of supervisory personnel - seek to resolve all situations in a manner that maintains positive guest relationships.
