About The Position

Wieland is hiring a Slitting Operator to support production of material. The role includes final inspection and packing of material, warehouse organization, tinning material, and operating tinning machines as assigned by the operations supervisor and manager. The position is fully on-site in Waterbury, Connecticut, and pays $23.00 per hour. The schedule is first shift, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Requirements

• High school degree or GED equivalent.
• Previous experience with sit-down forklifts.
• Competence using banders, hand tools, and other tools associated with the job.
• Ability to read and understand customer specifications, posted notices, and QA Alerts.
• Commitment to Wieland's established values and culture.
• Full compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety, PPE, attendance, and dress code.

Responsibilities

• Perform all tasks safely and identify hazards in the production environment.
• Know and adhere to all Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
• Uphold standards established by the management team.
• Oversee setup and helper work to ensure the line is equipped correctly.
• Follow work instructions for each purchase order and customer-specific quality instructions.
• Document slitting records in the appropriate logs.
• Oversee material during the slitting process.
• Ensure samples, labels, and packaging meet customer requirements.
• Perform machine-specific or situational duties assigned by the operations supervisor and manager.
• Keep the work area clean.
• Operate sit-down forklifts safely, with 9K+ capacity.
