About The Position

The Slitting Operator role is designed to foster an environment of learning and application, providing a meaningful experience where individuals manage projects from start to finish. The operator will work from established procedures, written and/or verbal instructions to perform set-ups and product changes. They will operate and monitor slitter controls to ensure product is being run within specification, observe slitter operation for quality product, and make adjustments and minor repairs to correct any deficiencies. The role involves coordinating all slitter operations with crew members, assisting them when necessary, and cutting and removing finished drums of tape, splicing to a new drum. The operator will use an overhead hoist and upender to move drums of tape, report all quality and maintenance problems to a supervisor, and follow prescribed safety rules. Maintaining necessary records, moving and ordering materials, and keeping the work area and equipment clean and orderly are also key responsibilities. The position may require performing other duties as required and directed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Must have excellent attendance
  • Maintain a safe work environment
  • Must be able to work overtime as required
  • Must be able to perform all duties in a safe and effective manner.
  • Ability to read and write.

Responsibilities

  • Perform set-ups and product changes.
  • Operate and monitor slitter controls to ensure product is being run within specification.

  • Follow prescribed safety rules and performs all jobs in accordance with safety rules.
  • Maintain necessary records.
  • Move and order materials as necessary.
  • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform other duties as required and directed.
