About The Position

The Slitter Operator Level I is responsible for supporting Slitter operations, including packaging, labeling, and unloading finished goods in accordance with customer specifications. This role works under the supervision and direction of the Team Lead or Manager to ensure accuracy, quality, and efficient production flow. This is a 3rd shift position - 11:45 pm - 8:00 am. 3rd shift offers a $2/hr shift differential.

Requirements

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated familiarity with manufacturing processes/equipment preferably of a large size, high speed nature.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, conflict-resolution, and decision making skills.
  • Strong organization skills with attention to detail.
  • Possesses a quality and customer-focused mindset.
  • Willingness and ability to train, motivate, and coach other team members.
  • Able to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Willingness and ability to learn and perform in other functions in the plant.
  • Thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
  • Willing and able to work flexible hours including rotating shifts as needed.
  • Possess communication skills to relate effectively with people of diverse background.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist in threading up of slitter
  • Perform slitter hoist inspection.
  • Operation of Corematic.
  • Monitor slitter.
  • Operates corematic.
  • Collaborate with Slitter Operator II to ensure quality of packaging and labeling for finished product.
  • Loading unit rolls and removal of mandrels.
  • Selecting and setting up appropriate header sizes.
  • Operation of vertical wrapper and associated equipment.
  • Handling and packaging of finished slit rolls (manual and/or automatic).
  • Off load finished goods from the line and stage in the warehouse.
  • Perform daily cleanings.
  • Communicate with off-going and on-coming Slitter Operators to ensure proper hand-offs.
  • Assist and help manage production down day activities.
  • Operates manufacturing equipment within specified limits of the appropriate Standard Operating Conditions.
  • Participate in training new team members.
  • Assist other team members as needed
  • All other duties assigned.
