The Slitter is responsible for taking master label rolls from the Rewind Feeder and transforms rolls into specific customer order rolls ready for shipping.

Requirements

Must be able to operate a rewind machine
Must be able to operate a turret machine
Must be able to cut out "bad" labels on rolls and splice rolls
Must be able to keep orders separated by size, city, UPC or plant numbers
Must be able to check rolls while running for misprinting
Must be able to report errors to pressman and supervisor
Must be able to direct errors to rework area
Must be able to rotate through rework area to rework "bad" rolls
Must be able to clean rewind machine or turret machine as needed
Must be able to perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
Must be able to participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

Sets up rewind machine to cut and rewind specific counts per customer order
Runs orders, fills out core labels to identify order, and stacks orders on carts
Keeps orders separated by size, city, UPC or plant numbers
Checks rolls while running for misprinting; report error to pressman and supervisor
Cuts out “bad” labels on rolls and splices rolls
Directs errors to rework area
Rotates through rework area to rework “bad” rolls
Clean rewind machine or turret machine as needed
Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned
Operate turret machine
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned
