About The Position

The SLI Casting Helper position is responsible for maintaining correct lead levels in the melt pots, while periodically removing dross from the molten lead surfaces and maintaining cleanliness of the melt pots themselves. This helps the SLI Casting team meet production schedule demands. The SLI Casting Helper works within a fast-paced environment, and you will be expected to work well under pressure and have basic machine operation skills.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age
• Experience with safety and environmental training
• Minimum 1 year manufacturing/factory experience preferred in a fast paced setting
• Basic math and computer skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, supervision, and management
• Familiar with inspection equipment, gauges, and measuring tools

Responsibilities

• Understanding and following policies, procedures and instructions
• Identifying and reporting product, process and quality system non-conformities to lead personnel
• Controlling nonconforming products
• Supporting implementation of corrective/preventive and improvement actions
• Upkeeping day-to-day housekeeping of the surrounding production floor area.
• Be able to identify various lead types by color and stamped identification.
• Assist operators in mold, ladle and trim die changeovers.
• Maintain lead pot full levels by filling with lead bars (pigs).
• Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown quality objectives.
