About The Position

This job description outlines the role, responsibilities, general tasks, and functions of the Fork Truck Operator, Production/Sleeving in their daily operations. The role requires a strong orientation towards safety and quality, adherence to GMPs, proper PPE usage, and good housekeeping practices. The operator must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team, and maintain good communication with colleagues and leadership. Flexibility with schedules, additional hours, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and orders simultaneously are essential. This role is responsible for ensuring the food safety and quality of Chobani product.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Ability to work on feet for up to 12 hours.
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 60 pounds.
  • Punctual and maintain good attendance.
  • Fast learner.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with end-of-line paperwork, if necessary.
  • Reconcile numbers to identify variances.
  • Ensure lines remain operational with no downtime.
  • Train and share knowledge with team members to improve skills.
  • Participate in implementing solutions and ideas within the department.
  • Maintain a strong focus on Safety, Quality, and Efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to foster a "whole team" atmosphere.
  • Keep areas clean and organized following 5-S guidelines.
  • Enforce and observe all safety rules and regulations as set by Chobani and OSHA.
  • Operate all industrial powered vehicles efficiently and safely for the assigned area.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order and use lockout/tagout procedures for non-operational equipment.
  • Ensure equipment batteries are maintained and changed out at the battery room if needed.
  • Perform daily inspections and checks on equipment and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Ensure scanner guns are charged and passed down between shifts.
  • Organize and deliver cup totes to storage locations or lines as needed.
  • Fulfill any requirements by the leadership team to ensure safe and fluent production flow.
  • Ensure correct materials are supplied to each point of use and remove excess waste streams.
  • Maintain the correct process flow with finished cups.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Lead, Manager, and Supervisor.
  • Follow Chobani’s safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
