About The Position

UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is hiring a full-time Sleep Technologist to work at the Children’s Main Campus in Lawrenceville and the Children's North Sleep Lab in Wexford. The position works night shifts three days per week, from 5:45 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The role operates under the supervision of the Lead Sleep Technologist and in collaboration with administrative and medical management. The Sleep Technologist conducts in-center and out-of-center sleep studies, therapeutic interventions, and patient education. The position offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus in exchange for a two-year work commitment with UPMC.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Registered Sleep Technologist (RPSGT) certification required.
Strong understanding of sleep study procedures and equipment.
CPR based on AHA standards, including didactic and skills demonstration components, required within 30 days of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
One of the following credentials: Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician (CRTT), Registered Polysomnographic Technologist, or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
Act 31, 33, 34, and 73 clearances, with renewal.

Nice To Haves

Graduate of a polysomnography program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).

Responsibilities

Prepare for sleep studies by reviewing patient charts and verifying orders.
Set up sleep studies, including applying electrodes and sensors according to AASM guidelines.
Conduct sleep studies with a focus on quality and patient care.
Analyze and score sleep studies accurately.
Perform routine equipment maintenance and inventory management.
Ensure scoring competency by meeting monthly AASM ISR requirements.
