About The Position

Carilion Clinic is seeking a Sleep Medicine physician to join an established and growing program in Southwest Virginia. The role offers a supportive, physician-led academic environment with experienced sleep specialists, advanced diagnostic technology, and a diverse patient population. Physicians can shape their practice and pursue clinical excellence, teaching, research, program development, leadership, quality initiatives, and professional growth. The physician will care for a broad spectrum of sleep disorders, including complex sleep apnea, narcolepsy, movement disorders, hypersomnia, and insomnia. The program includes four AASM-accredited sleep laboratories that perform more than 4,500 sleep studies annually. The physician will collaborate with pediatric sleep specialists, pulmonary and critical care colleagues, advanced practice providers, and experienced sleep technologists, and may teach medical students, residents, and fellows through the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine partnership. The position is based in the Roanoke area, in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. Carilion Clinic describes the area as offering outdoor recreation, cultural attractions, excellent schools, affordability, and access to major metropolitan areas. J-1 and H-1B candidates are eligible.

Requirements

MD or DO from an accredited institution.
Completion of an ACGME-accredited Sleep Medicine fellowship.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Sleep Medicine.
Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia.

Responsibilities

Care for patients with a broad spectrum of sleep disorders, including complex sleep apnea, narcolepsy, movement disorders, hypersomnia, and insomnia.
Collaborate with pediatric sleep specialists, pulmonary and critical care colleagues, advanced practice providers, and sleep technologists.
Contribute to program development and quality initiatives.
Participate in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
Pursue opportunities in research, leadership, and professional development.
