About The Position

The slasher operator is responsible for producing the highest quality warps while running efficiently. This role involves mixing size according to formula, ensuring temperature and time requirements are met, setting and adjusting machines, and monitoring the slashing process. The operator will also handle and transport materials such as beams, maintain machine cleanliness according to a weekly TPM schedule, and utilize the lockout/tagout program. Additionally, the role requires completing all necessary paperwork and computer-based information systems, and maintaining records according to ISO AS9100 standards.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years experience
  • Basic math abilities for calculating materials needed
  • General computer knowledge
  • Able to use material handling equipment (hoist, hand jack)
  • Must pass slasher pre-hire test
  • Must be able to work in a tight, confined area without damaging yarn

Responsibilities

  • Produce the highest quality warps while running efficiently.
  • Mix size according to formula, ensuring temperature and time requirements are met.
  • Set machines, make adjustments, and monitor the machine throughout the slashing process.
  • Handle and transport materials (e.g., beams).
  • Maintain the cleanliness of his/her machine at all times, following weekly TPM cleaning and audit schedule.
  • Utilize the lock out tag out program.
  • Complete all paperwork and computer based information systems.
  • Maintain all records according to ISO AS9100 standards.
  • Act as a warp supplier for weave and entering processes.
  • Transport, doff, lease, and start new beams.
