About The Position

The Skyhawk Station Specialist (temp) will be on the front lines of student support, answering questions, connecting people to resources, and helping to keep things running smoothly. This person will serve as a welcoming first point of contact for students, supports, and community members while supporting the office through customer assistance, record processing, and other administrative processes.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in customer service and handling money in an office
  • Intermediate to Advanced Office Suite skills (Outlook, Teams and Excel)
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to stay focused in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to provide professional, responsive, and effective customer service through in-person, telephone, and email interactions.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a supportive team
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, welcoming, and student-centered environment that prioritizes student success and belonging.
  • Experience in a professional environment using sound judgement when handling each situation

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Experience with billing or financial aid in a higher education institution
  • Advanced cashiering and customer service experience

Responsibilities

  • Greeting and assisting students, faculty, and visitors with a welcoming and helpful attitude
  • Answering phones and providing general information or transferring calls to the appropriate departments
  • Prioritizing and scheduling walk-ins for Financial Aid and Academic Advising
  • Processing student tuition payments securely and accurately
  • Responding to questions related to financial aid, billing, and student accounts
  • Supporting students in understanding their bills and account balances
  • Creating and managing student ID cards, as well as distributing parking permits to students
  • Assisting with special projects and events, especially during busy periods like the start of the semester or registration
  • Processing forms, such as enrollment verifications for scholarships
  • Learning and navigating student service software systems (training provided)
  • Maintains knowledge and awareness of digital accessibility including the American with Disabilities Act and Section 508.
  • Produces and remediates digitally accessible materials in accordance with FLC standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
