About The Position

This role involves leading small teams to ensure production needs are met and deliverables are completed on schedule. The engineer will conduct critical design reviews, collaborate with cross-functional teams for manufacturing alignment, and develop assembly plans and innovative solutions for daily production challenges. Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining detailed manufacturing products and documentation, providing direct production floor support for troubleshooting, and utilizing PLM and MES for process development. The position requires interpreting drawings and model-based designs for manufacturability and collaborating on product improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is collaborative, an excellent communicator, and effective with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required to apply
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment working cross functionally with other disciplines including industrial engineering, planning, scheduling, Quality Assurance &/or production operations.
  • Experience supporting vehicle systems installations & integration into a final product. Experience should include some combination of the following systems: electrical harness installation, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, propulsion systems, avionics, and related systems.
  • Ability to obtain a secret security clearance after offer acceptance and willing to stay in current role/employment throughout the clearance processing period. Candidate must have a full secret clearance prior to start.
  • Ability to obtain special program access within 3 months of start date with LM.

Nice To Haves

  • STEM degree preferred.
  • Active Secret security clearance with an investigation within the last 5 years.
  • Previous team lead experience.
  • Experience in liaison role supporting production activities and rapidly resolving constraints to minimize production impact.
  • Experience supporting final assembly including collaborating with various disciplines to coordinate closeouts and system checkouts.
  • Experience supporting various projects and coordinating activities related to the full life cycle of projects from conception to delivery.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive issues to closure and develop preventative action plan to limit failures in the future.
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering blueprints, process specifications and manufacturing planning.
  • Self-starter with ability to operate with limited direction.
  • Previous experience with engineering releases and configuration change control.
  • Proficient working in 3D modelling software (CATIA, Creo, SolidWorks, Nx), product Lifecycle Manager (PLM) programs (e.g. 3DX, Teamcenter, PDM, etc.), and MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) programs (iBASEt, SAP, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Lead small teams focused on portions of the build to ensure production needs are met and discrete deliverables are completed ahead of need.
  • Conduct critical design reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with manufacturing processes.
  • Develop assembly plans and innovative solutions to address daily challenges, ensuring efficient production flow.
  • Create and maintain detailed manufacturing products and documentation.
  • Provide direct support on the production floor, troubleshooting issues and implementing solutions.
  • Utilize Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to develop manufacturing processes.
  • Interpret drawings and model-based designs, translating them into actionable steps for manufacturability for the production environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to explore out-of-the-box thinking and contribute to product improvement initiatives.
