Provide training and support for interns to ensure success during internship rotations and/or a competitive job. This role involves providing individualized support at worksite rotations or competitive jobs, including job coaching, building natural supports, identifying job accommodations, and assistive technology. The Skills Trainer will communicate effectively with various stakeholders, perform job analysis, and implement job coaching plans. They will also train interns in essential employment skills such as grooming, hygiene, communication, interviewing, and behavior, and provide travel training if necessary. Follow-along services are provided to interns after they secure competitive employment, which may require working outside of typical hours, including evenings and weekends. The role demands flexibility, adherence to host business standards, and completion of all required paperwork in a timely manner. The Skills Trainer must also recognize and act on legal responsibilities concerning consumer safety and welfare, and serve as an effective role model with a positive attitude and sound judgment. Collaboration with team members, funding partners, and families is crucial, as is maintaining intern privacy and confidentiality.
