About The Position

We seek a caring and responsible CFS Skills Instructor to help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities inside their home and/or community, working with them to achieve health and quality of life. Location: On-site in family home. Positions are currently available in the following Massachusetts communities: Lawrence Schedule: 3-6 hours weekly based upon schedule agreed upon with family and supervisor. Compensation: This is a non-exempt, per diem position. The hourly rate is $21.63. You will be a union member to SEIU Local 509.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year experience with daily life skills and personal care
• Candidates must be able to read, write, and comprehend English to accurately follow care plans, document services provided, and communicate effectively with individuals, families, and healthcare professionals.
• Valid Driver's License in good standing and a minimum of 1 year of driving required

Responsibilities

• Develop skills in all areas of community living, including doing household tasks and learning social skills.
• Behave appropriately.
• Be active in their community.
• Complete required forms on medical, behavioral and community goals from their Individual Support Plan (ISP).
• Assist and provide safety and personal care to individuals.
• Help individuals with community and recreational activities.
