Most student positions at American University are eligible to use Federal Work Study (FWS) awards, with a few exceptions. FWS funds cannot be applied to janitorial, construction, partisan or sectarian positions. This 10 hour per week part-time position that supports the Skills Institutes in the School of International Service. These weekend courses are aimed at providing graduate students in international affairs with in-demand skills. Requirements
- Previous experience in working with events, professional communications, and/or research and evaluation.
- This position requires regular weekend (Saturday and Sunday) work.
- This position is available only to enrolled American University students.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in international affairs or education.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Demonstrated interest in experiential education.
Responsibilities
- Faculty Support: The incumbent supports Skills Institute faculty during, and prior to, instruction of the course.
- Student Support: The incumbent supports students in Skills Institutes by trouble-shooting technological issues and other access challenges.
- Program Assessment: Complementing the AU-wide SETs, the incumbent surveys students and analyzes the data that these surveys produce.
