About The Position

This position is responsible for daily and annual maintenance in the residence halls and apartment complexes for Campus Living. Requirements

  • High School Diploma and or GED
  • 1-2 year general maintenance work for large complexes or buildings or residences
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities General maintenance and repair knowledge in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work
  • Knowledge of general maintenance procedures in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC
  • Knowledgeable in the use of chemicals such as paints, cleaning products, and lawn supplies
  • Ability to climb a ladder and work on roofs and under houses in tight spaces
  • Ability to lift or push up to 75+ pounds
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment used in general maintenance
  • Ability to drive motorized vehicles
  • Ability to work outside in cold and hot temperatures
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 year experience in carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work

Responsibilities

  • Perform various maintenance duties such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and grounds work
  • Perform manual labor that uses both hand and power tools for repairs
  • Assists in repairs, preventive maintenance and special projects for residence halls and apartments
  • Review and record daily work orders from supervisor to help schedule work and supplies
  • Assists in the organization of all workshop space, tool and supplies and assists in inventory
  • Help prepare properties for rental, assists with renovations and upgrades, moves furniture and appliances, and assembles furniture
  • Work with summer student maintenance crew to ensure campus is ready for annual opening
  • Ensure needed repairs are completed and fixed accordingly
  • Provide after-hours and weekend response for student and facility-related emergencies as needed
  • Perform other maintenance duties as assigned
