About The Position

The San Diego Unified School District is seeking professionals who care deeply for students and are committed to the communities they serve for the position of Skilled Trades Helper (Grounds). This role will assist journey-level grounds workers by performing semi-skilled and routine construction, maintenance, and repair of district buildings and grounds. The district is the second largest in California and one of the top largest urban school districts in the United States. Requirements

  • Graduation from high school and two years of recent experience in general construction, maintenance, and repair work, or as a helper to a journey level skilled trades worker.
  • Incumbents may be required to obtain a Class A driver's license.

  • Individuals who have completed high school or college-level coursework at an institution in a country other than the United States must provide a Foreign Equivalency Certification to satisfy the education requirement.
