About The Position
The Village of Glendale Heights is seeking applicants for a Skilled Seasonal Laborer in the Public Works Department to perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled work in the Streets Division. This position will operate a variety of equipment in the operation to perform a variety of skilled and semiskilled grounds maintenance work and construction work.
Requirements
- Must be able to read
- Ability to work diligently with team spirit
- Basic knowledge of the use and application of hand tools and some power tools
- Most assignments require physical stamina
- Heavy lifting of up to 100 pounds
- Sometimes working in inclement weather conditions
- Valid CDL Class B (Air Endorsement) Driver’s License required at time of application
- Employees are required to have their permanent residency within a 15-mile radius of the Village
Nice To Haves
- Three years of Public Works experience is preferred relating to a variety of skills in construction
