About The Position

The Skilled Maintenance Technician II position is to perform a variety of skilled construction, maintenance, and repair duties in support of the Facilities department; and to provide technical assistance to assigned supervisory staff. Work Schedule: 8:00am - 5:00pm - Position will include being on the afterhours emergency stand-by-roster. This position is subject to budget required furloughs to be implemented in the 2026 calendar year. We're an accredited pay equity employer! Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three (3) years of full-time skilled maintenance and/or technical experience related to area of assignment
  • Possess or obtain upon hire, and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado driver’s license not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges
  • Pass a CJIS background check and a police polygraph test
  • Applicants that have used marijuana or CBD products within 3 months from the date of their application submission will not be eligible for hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience related to the structural maintenance of buildings
  • One (1) year of working on commercial overhead doors, including wiring photo eyes, working on springs, and balancing doors

Responsibilities

  • Perform the full range of skilled maintenance and technical duties, including the design, construction, installation, alteration, maintenance, and repair of buildings, structures, devices, and systems
  • Perform skilled carpentry, finished carpentry, commercial overhead door repair and maintenance, door hardware installation and repair, window repair.
  • Estimate time, materials, and equipment required for jobs assigned; requisition materials as needed
  • Complete assigned work orders and tasks
  • Maintain logs and records of work performed, and file reports, as required
  • Assess new projects and design and layout projects
  • Ensure proper and efficient completion of tasks
  • Perform field inspections to ensure work quality and adherence to City policies and work plans and designs
  • Other duties as assigned
