About The Position

We are currently accepting applications to support multiple projects with our clients across Canada.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a construction labourer on projects in heavy civil earthworks, construction, road building or mining industry is required.
• Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license, and a clean 3-year abstract.
• Valid Safety Training tickets
• CSO / BSO / CSTS-09/ OSSA Regional
• Intermediate First Aid with CPR & AED
• H2S Alive
• Bear Awareness (In-Class)
• Ground Disturbance (HEO)
• Valid Driver’s License
• CSA Approved safety boots - minimum 6" high & fully laceable.
• Be physically conditioned to repetitively and safely lift up to 50lbs.
• Work a rotational schedule, up to 12 hours a day, for both day or night shifts as required and subject to change depending on project needs.
• Expect to handle noise and vibrations on the job.
• Be prepared for and willing to perform additional labour duties as / when required.
• Embrace the elements by working outdoors in all weather conditions. Whether it's rain, shine, or snow, you'll need to thrive in diverse weather environments.
• Successful completion of Alcohol and Drug Screening
• Successful completion of comprehensive Fitness-to-Work Assessment. This assessment is job-related, focusing on the physical demands and safety sensitive nature of the work, and is conducted in accordance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and the Alberta Human Rights Act. The assessment will cover: Health History Review, Pre-Medical Evaluation, Musculoskeletal Examination, Critical Strength and Mobility Test (up to 50 lbs).

Nice To Haves

• Ability to interpret Survey layout would be an asset.
• Experience operating a packer would be preferred.

Responsibilities

• Setting up work areas with signage and marking out hazards.
• Carrying and delivering construction materials.
• Shoveling soil and/or equipment tracks.
• Flagging and traffic control.
• Shooting grade.
• Equipment watch
• Hand excavation around facilities and erosion control installation, working with geotextile materials.
• Adhere to project specifications and guidelines to maintain quality standards.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, other operators, and site personnel to ensure smooth operations.
• Champion our safety culture by adhering to Morgan's Safe Work Procedures and PPE policies by demonstrating a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
• Maintain awareness of the surrounding environment and potential hazards, such as other equipment or personnel. Perform JSA and FLHA’s as required.
• Demonstrate exceptional judgement and problem solving skills.
• Demonstrating versatility in collaborating effectively with team members and independently taking ownerships of tasks.
• Operate 2-way radio
• Assist ground personnel as / when required.
• Other duties as / when assigned
