Allen Construction is seeking Skilled Laborers to join our team of builders in Santa Barbara. Requirements

A high school diploma or GED
Two (2) years of general labor experience, preferably in upscale/luxury construction
Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors/laborers to their understanding
Able to provide legible written and verbal communication
Possess a basic understanding of residential construction practices
Knowledge of related tools, techniques, equipment, and materials
Able to see details at close range (within a few feet)
Ability to work independently or with little direction
Demonstrate experience and passion for client satisfaction
Able to perform physically demanding work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions

Nice To Haves

Four (4) years progressive construction labor experience, preferably in upscale/luxury construction
Has own tools
Ability to communicate in a second language, preferably Spanish
Basic knowledge/skills in trades

Responsibilities

Prepare surfaces prior to beginning work
Provide assistance to foreman and carpenters
Hand excavation and backfill
Maintain clean job site by sweeping and removing debris and trash
Install property protection
Move and stage jobsite materials
Participate in demolition work activity
Use a variety of hand tools to cut and shape materials
Follow established safety regulations and maintain a clean environment
Assist Allen internal in-house crew(s) with carpentry, concrete, or other specifics tasks
Use and maintain safety equipment
Perform errands such as material pick-up and drop-off
Respond to phone calls and personal requests promptly
Attend meetings as requested
Assist trades as needed
Work with teams and other project stakeholders
Respond well to direction form team members
