Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience working outdoors, preferably in a utilities/construction environment.

  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, independently and consistently.
  • Interest in growing within telecom construction (fiber splicing, coax, drilling, etc.).
  • Valid and current CDL A/B Required with current DOT Med card.

Responsibilities

  • Support aerial and underground telecom construction projects nationwide.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use proper PPE to ensure the safety of yourself, your crew, and the public.
  • Perform general labor duties including trenching, backfilling, job site prep, and material handling.
  • Assist with installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable, including fiber blowing and placement.
  • Support aerial and underground construction as directed and trained.
  • Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment between job sites.
  • Assist with equipment and vehicle operations (trucks, trailers, and construction equipment) as directed and certified.
  • Support site cleanup, basic maintenance, and overall job site organization.
  • Assist with troubleshooting and basic repair of RF and fiber systems as needed.
  • Learn to read and interpret construction prints, maps, and design schematics.
  • Gain experience with telecom tools and equipment such as bucket trucks, line trucks, cable reels, and power tools.
  • Work 50–60 hours per week and travel 100% of the time (except PTO and holidays).
