About The Position

High Steel Structures is seeking a 3rd-shift Outdoor Industrial Skilled Laborer in Lancaster, PA. This role involves performing duties related to the fabrication and preparation of steel bridge girders. Coworkers on the third shift receive a 25% shift differential and work four nights per week, Monday through Thursday, from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Requirements

• A high school diploma or GED
• Willingness work outdoors, 100% of the time, in all weather conditions, is required.
• Experience using hand and power tools, include drills.
• A valid PA driver's license is required.
• Willingness to learn and operate Mi-Jack equipment
• The ability to read, write, and follow directions.

Nice To Haves

• Previous steel erection (iron worker) or general laborer experience preferred.
• Previous rigging experience desired.
• Forklift certification desired, or willingness to obtain while on the job.
• Prior experience in truck driving preferred
• Experience operating a yard crane or travel lift a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform all required duties to pre-punch or pre-drilled holes at splice section of steel bridge girders.
• Match mark plates, as necessary.
• Walk with and guide the MI Jack; chain products to trucks; set blocking for loading and storing products.
• Assist with onside iron work duties.
• Use electric drills to drill holes where needed.
