About The Position

Airbus US Manufacturing Facility is looking for a DoD SkillBridge Flightline Mechanic to join our Manufacturing department based in Mobile, AL. The Flightline Mechanic is responsible for performing Functional Test Procedure, Pre & Post Flight inspection to prepare built aircraft for test flight and delivery readiness. This would include troubleshooting, repairing and inspecting aircraft systems using approved aircraft data. The Flightline Mechanic would proficiently operate and understand a wide variety of test equipment and tooling. The Mechanic must have the ability to interpret technical manuals, drawing and engineering data to support tasks. Airbus is an authorized DoD SkillBridge partner (per DoDI 1322.29). This 180-day program allows transitioning service members to leverage their military technical expertise in a high-precision aerospace environment.

Requirements

  • 3 years minimum aviation experience, preferably in an aviation manufacturing, MRO environment or military aviation
  • Valid Airframe License
  • Must be willing to work Rotation shift schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a valid passport which allows travel
  • Vocational/Technical School Credential Required
  • High School Diploma, GED or an equivalent combination of training/experience.
  • The ability to successfully complete the following trainings provided by Airbus after recruitment: Health & Safety, General aircraft familiarization, Quality trainings
  • Active-duty service member within 180 days of separation.
  • Written Commander (O-4 or above) authorization.
  • Must have current work authorization for U.S. positions.

Nice To Haves

  • Training from a vocational school, military training or previous employer in the use of application tools and in application techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot malfunctions, rigs, repairs, replacement aircraft structures, components and aircraft systems of moderate difficulty
  • Maintain and rework Aircraft Components including but not limited to landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and ventilation
  • Servicing, repair cabin interior components
  • Prepare documentation in accordance with company procedure
  • Perform day to day aircraft maintenance
  • Experience with Refuel/Defuel, Aircraft Jack and Tow
