About The Position

Total Group of Companies is an industrial service company specializing in fire, rescue, medical, and HSE services across Canada. We are seeking an experienced Skid Steer and Telehandler Operator who is also willing to assist with general labour duties as required. This is a long-term opportunity requiring an individual who can safely operate equipment while also assisting with general site activities as required.

Requirements

  • Skid Steer Operator Certification
  • Telehandler or Zoom Boom Operator Certification
  • Certifications must confirm completion of the applicable operator training and competency assessment.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Be legally authorized to work in Canada and possess a valid SIN
  • Hold a valid driver’s licence
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Be able to provide a clean or satisfactory Driver’s Abstract
  • Be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
  • Be physically capable of performing general labour duties
  • Be available to work on-site for the required project schedule
  • Be safety-minded and able to follow directions
  • Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Have strong communication skills and a positive attitude

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a skid steer for material handling, loading, grading, cleanup, and other assigned site activities
  • Operate a telehandler or Zoom Boom when required
  • Complete daily equipment inspections and report any defects or maintenance concerns
  • Follow site-specific operating procedures, traffic plans, and equipment safety requirements
  • Load, move, and organize construction materials and debris
  • Assist with general labour and site cleanup when equipment operation is not required
  • Participate in toolbox meetings, orientations, and pre-job safety meetings
  • Identify and report hazards, unsafe conditions, incidents, and equipment concerns
  • Wear and maintain all required personal protective equipment
  • Work safely around other equipment, vehicles, workers, and community areas
  • Follow instructions and work cooperatively as part of the project team
