The Skid/Pallet Builder (Carpenter) role involves building skids and pallets to specifications, operating lift trucks for material transport, maintaining safety through daily inspections, and collaborating with the team to achieve goals and maintain housekeeping.
Requirements
- Experience with hand tools, including up-cut saw & circular saw
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to follow processes & procedures
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds
- Mount & dismount equipment
- Capable of walking, climbing and bending for periods of time
- Comfortable working in hot and cold atmospheres depending on weather conditions
Nice To Haves
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One (1) year of lift truck operation experience
- Lift truck experience handling heavy loads (10,000 pounds or more)
Responsibilities
- Builds skids and pallets according to Majestic Steel and/or customer specifications
- Operate lift trucks to transport, store, and stage materials within the service center
- Perform daily lift truck inspections
- Move up and down from lift truck
- Report any equipment issues
- Work collaboratively with team to meet goals
- Contribute to housekeeping procedures
- Complete additional job-related responsibilities as assigned
