About The Position

Indera is seeking a Ski Program Coordinator for a seasonal, contracted position responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating Indera's adaptive winter snow sports program. This role supports integrated skiing and snowboarding opportunities for individuals with disabilities. The coordinator will work closely with participants, families, volunteers, staff, SkiCNY/Labrador Mountain, and Indera leadership to ensure safe, organized, accessible, and meaningful program experiences. The position is located at Labrador Mountain.

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain all certifications required for assigned responsibilities.
  • Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) adaptive/alpine certification is required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with skiing and/or snowboarding, with experience in ski instruction strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities in recreation, adaptive sports, community-based activities, or a related setting.
  • Knowledge of adaptive snow sports techniques and equipment, or the ability to obtain necessary training.
  • Ability to effectively train, guide, and communicate with staff, volunteers, participants, families, and community partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to coordinate schedules, applications, documentation, equipment, and multiple program activities.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining effective communication and coordination with Indera leadership and community partners.
  • Ability to work outdoors in winter conditions and participate in on-hill program activities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and deliver Indera & Ski training and program materials, including informational sessions, dry-land training, on-hill instruction, seasonal clinics, and training on adaptive snow sports equipment and techniques for staff, volunteers, and participants.
  • Coordinate the recruitment, application, orientation, assignment, scheduling, training, and ongoing support of participants, staff, and volunteers, including weekend ski sessions, follow-up activities, and volunteer recognition and appreciation.
  • Coordinate program operations and logistics in collaboration with SkiCNY/Labrador Mountain and Indera leadership, including skier and volunteer processes, equipment access, lodge and on-hill activities, training, schedules, and other operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely program records and required documentation for participants, staff, volunteers, donors, and program activities in accordance with agency policies, program requirements, and applicable grant requirements.
  • Manage adaptive and program equipment, including inventorying, inspecting, maintaining, and coordinating repair or replacement as resources allow, and making adaptive equipment available to participants when feasible and consistent with program procedures.
  • Promote the Indera & Ski program and support participant and volunteer recruitment through community outreach, schools, ski sales, informational events, and other appropriate channels in coordination with Indera leadership.
  • Promote individualized supports, adaptive skills, and participant independence, including opportunities for participants, when appropriate, to continue skiing or snowboarding beyond the formal program season.
  • Support program quality and continuous improvement by assisting with annual program evaluation, gathering participant and volunteer feedback, identifying opportunities for improvement, and promptly communicating scheduling conflicts, program concerns, or resource needs to the appropriate Indera supervisor.
