About The Position

Copper Mountain Resort is seeking a dedicated Snowmobile Driver to safely and efficiently shuttle guests and instructors to their designated locations. This role is crucial for ensuring a positive daily guest experience, operational excellence, and the overall success of the Ski and Ride School. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in meeting or exceeding targets for both employee and guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Able to commit to working from December 1st through the end of the season in late April.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk up and down stairs.
  • Must have sufficient sight, speech, and hearing abilities to learn skills, follow, and provide directions.
  • A criminal background check will be conducted after the position is accepted, in accordance with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Must be fluent in all aspects of the English language.
  • Able to handle a snowmobile/side-by-side in all weather conditions.
  • Must be able to work outside at high elevation in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in guest-focused seminars.
  • Experience operating a snowmobile, either recreationally or through employment.
  • High degree of customer service experience.
  • Snowmobile Certification.
  • High degree of guest contact, with sensitivity to a variety of requests and needs.
  • Acute awareness of safety issues, including other snowmobiles, defensive snowmobile driving, skiers and riders on the hill, and weight limits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily maintenance of Green Acres, carpet areas, and lesson meeting areas, including the setup and breakdown of fencing and other animation.
  • Operate a snowmobile/side-by-side with an attached sled to shuttle guests between locations.
  • Continuously evaluate and perform necessary maintenance on snowmobiles and beginner teaching areas.
  • Perform daily maintenance of carpet areas and lesson meeting areas, including setup and breakdown of fencing and animation.
  • Assist with guest comfort amenities, such as providing water, disposing of trash in guest zones, and locating misplaced individuals.
  • Collaborate closely with Ski & Ride School (SRS) leadership to maintain safe transportation routes through SRS meeting areas, the Schoolhouse, Union Creek, and Green Acres.
  • Complete daily Vehicle Log and Maintenance Log as required.
  • Interact with Copper’s guests with kindness and respect, accommodating their transportation needs during lessons.
  • Communicate regularly with SRS leadership to report problem areas and issues requiring attention.
  • Be willing and prepared to shift focus to other tasks and duties as prioritized by SRS leadership.
  • Maintain the highest level of integrity in radio communication to ensure seamless operations.
  • Perform snow, ice, and debris removal, along with other winter maintenance in relevant zones, including shoveling, chiseling, and clearing pathways, stairs, and other guest-facing areas.
  • Function as an ambassador for Copper Mountain, modeling and sharing the Copper culture with guests and employees.
  • Uphold a professional image and strive to exceed guest expectations, creating memorable experiences for guests and staff.
  • Accept new responsibilities and transfer others as the role evolves with POWDR-Copper.
