About The Position

THE SKATESIDE is one of Southern California's largest youth skateboarding and roller skating programs. Since 2015, our mission has been simple: MORE KIDS SKATING. Through camps, lessons, school programs, and community events, we help kids build confidence, resilience, and character through skateboarding. We are looking for responsible, energetic, and dependable individuals who want to make a positive impact in the lives of children. As a Summer Camp Counselor, you will help create a fun, safe, and encouraging environment where campers develop skateboarding skills, confidence, friendships, and a love for being active outdoors. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with kids, being active, and serving as a positive role model.

Requirements

• Experience working with children preferred
• Skateboarding experience preferred but not required
• Reliable and punctual
• Positive attitude and strong communication skills
• Comfortable working outdoors

Responsibilities

• Supervise campers throughout the camp day
• Assist with skateboarding instruction and activities
• Promote a safe and positive learning environment
• Encourage participation, effort, and sportsmanship
• Help with setup and cleanup of camp equipment
• Support beginner skaters as they learn new skills
• Communicate professionally with parents and staff
• Represent THE SKATESIDE in a positive manner
