About The Position

THE SKATESIDE is looking for responsible, energetic, and enthusiastic individuals to join our Summer Camp team in Santa Monica. As a Summer Camp Counselor, you will help create a safe, fun, and supportive environment where campers learn skateboarding skills, build confidence, make friends, and stay active throughout the summer. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children, loves being outdoors, and wants to make a positive impact in their community. THE SKATESIDE is one of Southern California's leading youth skateboarding programs, serving thousands of children through camps, lessons, school programs, and community events. Since 2015, our mission has been simple: MORE KIDS SKATING. We use skateboarding to help children develop confidence, resilience, independence, and character while creating positive experiences they will remember for years to come. At THE SKATESIDE , we believe skateboarding is more than a sport—it’s a powerful tool for personal growth and transformation. Founded by passionate skaters with a mission to inspire more kids to skate, our program has positively impacted over ten thousand children since 2015. Our approach goes beyond teaching skateboarding and roller-skating skills. We focus on building character, confidence, and resilience . Through guided instruction and mentorship, kids develop essential life skills like problem-solving, perseverance, and self-discipline—all while having fun in a safe, supportive environment. We collaborate with municipalities, schools, and families to create enriching programs that foster self-awareness, mental well-being, and a sense of community. Our lessons are tailored to align with each child’s age and developmental needs, ensuring that every participant feels empowered and motivated to succeed on and off the board.
