About The Position

The SIU Investigator detects, investigates, and helps prevent suspected fraud by gathering evidence, analyzing information, and supporting legal and regulatory action.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with investigative tools and databases
  • Must be coachable and learn from constructive criticism

  • Sound judgement and problem-solving skills
  • 2+ years of investigative experience (insurance or related field), preferably in SIU
  • Insurance or claims handling (adjuster, examiner, or audit roles) within the insurance industry

  • College Bachelor’s degree preferred

Responsibilities

  • Investigates suspected fraud
  • Examine claims that show red flags - like inconsistent statements, unusual billing patterns, or suspicious documentation
  • Conduct interviews
  • Interview the Insured, claimants, witnesses, or providers (the goal is to confirm whether the claim or activity is legitimate).
  • Review records and evidence
  • Analyze medical records, financial documents, accident reports, or digital data to spot inconsistencies or fraud patterns
  • Write detailed reports
  • Document everything clearly - the findings, timelines, evidence
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and legal teams
  • If fraud is confirmed, work with police, attorneys, or regulatory bodies
  • Ensure compliance
  • Follow laws and regulations, including privacy rules and proper evidence handling procedures
