About The Position

Hanson is seeking interns for their Site Civil Engineering discipline in Jacksonville. This role involves planning, designing, and preparing construction documents for various public and private development projects, including commercial, industrial, municipal, educational, and recreational site developments. Interns will gain experience in site layout, grading and drainage, stormwater management systems, utility infrastructure, erosion and sediment control, roadway and parking lot design, permitting support, and construction documentation. The position utilizes software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design tools for 3D site modeling and earthwork analysis.

Requirements

Actively enrolled in an ABET-accredited civil engineering program.
Successfully completed their sophomore year and be actively enrolled in a 4-year college or university.
Strong written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

Preparing plans, designs, specifications, and cost estimates.
Gathering and/or providing data for the preparation of engineering reports, studies, and permit applications.
Performing and/or reviewing calculations related to grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and site development.
Utilizing engineering software packages such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design tools.
Conducting field investigations and/or site visits to gather information and verify existing conditions.
Documenting and/or observing construction operations and assisting with construction phase services.
Performing related duties such as writing memoranda, letters, or general reports; collecting and correlating engineering data; maintaining records; and attending meetings.
