About The Position

The Regional Sites Manager (RSM) plays a vital role in the smooth operation and success of several Education Centers of Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU). These sites are part of the regional education centers located throughout Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky and sit within the National & Global unit of IWU. Each center strives to partner with their community to meet its educational needs. Providing professional meeting space, in addition to educational programs for working adults, allows IWU to build these partnerships while serving the local community. The RSM will serve as the direct leader of a building as well as the site manager for several other locations from a distance, leading and supporting staff members in the operations and conferencing functions for those sites. This role is suited for someone who is highly relational and has a love of problem-solving and innovation. In addition, skills related to supervising personnel, customer service, sales, building management, team building, project management, and negotiation will help make the Regional Sites Manager successful. He/she assumes primary responsibility for property management of the Indianapolis building and staffing for daily campus operations. Supervises regional operational staff. Serves as the conference services manager for a site and other sites as needed. Assists the Executive Director with projects as needed.

Requirements

  • At least two (2) years of experience in supervising and managing employees
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Leadership and team building skills (e.g., ability to train, supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff)
  • Proficient with MS Office and comfortable using a variety of technology (e.g., audio visual equipment, teleconferencing)
  • Administrative and project management skills (e.g., ability to self-start, multi-task, prioritize tasks for self and others, and attention to detail and accuracy)
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills (e.g., including budget planning, bookkeeping and budget management)
  • Ability to problem solve, interpret instructions and data, and deal with unknown variables
  • Networking and partnership development skills (e.g., ability to work innovatively, and collaboratively with internal and external customers)
  • Strong Christian commitment and adherence to the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement

Nice To Haves

  • Customer service-related experience preferred
  • Commercial building and project management-related experience is helpful
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop regional operational team
  • Facilitate collaborative, healthy relationships with IWU employees from other departments housed within the education centers
  • Communicate in a manner that fosters collaboration
  • Manage building finances including assistance with oversite of budget
  • Seek opportunities to grow professionally and stay up to date about trends in the higher education industry
  • Represent the University in a positive manner to internal and external customers through Christian conduct
  • Assist Director as needed
  • Coordinate all aspects of building and grounds management in order to create and maintain an inviting, professional, and safe environment
  • Oversee & troubleshoot building technology in cooperation with IWU Technology Services
  • Staff the buildings based of usage needs
  • Partner with regional ventures team to support the ventures-focused initiatives in the region, with particular focus on how those ventures interact with the education center
  • Provide operational and spiritual support for staff, students, and faculty as needed
  • Oversee landlord relations as needed
  • Create and maintain a culture of continuous improvement
  • Stay abreast of upcoming learning opportunities being scheduled in the building
  • Work with IWU’s Emergency Management and Risk Management offices to stay up to date on protocols at the IWU, local, state, and federal levels
  • Meet or exceed conference revenue expectations
  • Oversee all aspects of conferencing
  • Build and maintain new conference guest pipeline - Network/Market/Promote new conferencing opportunities
