About The Position

The Site Supervisor for commercial building projects plays a critical role in ensuring that construction activities are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations on-site, coordinating between subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers to maintain project timelines and budgets. The Site Supervisor ensures compliance with all safety regulations and building codes, mitigating risks and fostering a safe working environment for all personnel. They act as the primary point of contact on-site, resolving issues promptly and facilitating clear communication among all stakeholders. Ultimately, the role is pivotal in delivering successful commercial building projects that meet client expectations and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in construction management is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory role within commercial construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety regulations, and building codes applicable in the United States.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills daily to coordinate multiple teams and ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
  • Effective communication skills are essential for liaising between subcontractors, suppliers, and project managers, facilitating smooth operations and quick resolution of issues.
  • Technical skills, including the ability to read blueprints and use project management software, enable accurate monitoring of progress and resource allocation.
  • Safety management skills are applied continuously to enforce compliance and maintain a secure work environment.
  • Problem-solving abilities are critical for addressing unexpected challenges on-site, ensuring that construction activities proceed without significant delays.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification or equivalent safety training.
  • Experience with project management software such as Procore, PlanGrid, or similar tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
  • First aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all on-site construction activities to ensure adherence to project plans and schedules.
