About The Position

The Site Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily environmental services and janitorial operations within the assigned facility. This role provides leadership to frontline cleaning staff, ensures service quality standards are achieved, supports health and safety compliance, manages inventory and equipment, and serves as the primary point of contact for operational issues within the facility. The Site Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and customer-focused environment while ensuring all contractual and company standards are met.

Requirements

  • Previous supervisory experience in janitorial, custodial, environmental services, facilities management, or hospitality operations.
  • Experience leading cleaning teams in commercial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, or institutional environments.
  • Working knowledge of floor care programs and cleaning equipment.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operational reporting tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Environmental Services, Facilities Management, or Janitorial Services experience.
  • WHMIS and Health & Safety training.
  • Experience conducting quality audits and facility inspections.
  • Knowledge of inventory and supply management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and direct cleaning staff.
  • Delegate daily assignments and monitor completion of tasks.
  • Provide coaching, training, and performance support to team members.
  • Conduct shift meetings and communicate operational priorities.
  • Assist with onboarding and orientation of new employees.
  • Conduct routine facility inspections and quality audits.
  • Identify deficiencies and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation of inspections and follow-up activities.
  • Ensure cleaning standards and client expectations are consistently achieved.
  • Respond promptly to client concerns and service requests.
  • Investigate complaints related to cleaning quality and implement solutions.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with site stakeholders.
  • Participate in operational planning and service improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and oversee floor maintenance programs.
  • Ensure appropriate treatment methods are used for different flooring types.
  • Support advanced floor care activities including: Stripping and waxing, Scrubbing and recoating, Carpet extraction, Auto-scrubber operations, Burnishing and polishing.
  • Monitor cleaning equipment use and maintenance.
  • Monitor inventory levels of cleaning products, consumables, and equipment.
  • Order supplies as required.
  • Ensure safe storage and proper handling of cleaning chemicals.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure staff compliance with all health and safety policies.
  • Conduct workplace inspections and hazard assessments.
  • Investigate incidents and complete required documentation.
  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain attendance, scheduling, and operational records.
  • Complete reports, audits, and client documentation.
  • Monitor staffing levels and support recruitment activities as required.
  • Participate in meetings and operational reviews.
