We are currently seeking an experienced Superintendent for our Lansdowne 2.0 Project in Ottawa As the Superintendent, you will be the senior field leader responsible for all on-site construction activities. You will oversee day-to-day site operations, manage field staff and trade partners, and ensure the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Requirements

Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in building construction, with at least 5 years as a Superintendent
Experience with design-builds
Gold Seal Certification or equivalent professional designation
OHSA certification and other relevant safety training
Knowledge of Ontario Building Code and municipal requirements
Lean construction or other methodology experience
Proven success leading large-scale commercial, institutional, and high-rise building projects
Strong knowledge of construction methods, safety standards, and scheduling
Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
Ability to foster collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders
Proficiency with construction management software and scheduling tools
Valid driver’s license and ability to work full-time on-site

Responsibilities

Lead, supervise, and mentor field staff on-site while fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment
Manage daily construction activities and ensure adherence to project plans and schedules
Maintain strict safety standards and lead by example in promoting a safe work environment
Collaborate effectively with subcontractors and trade partners, building positive working relationships that drive project success
Conduct regular site inspections, safety meetings, and quality control checks
Resolve on-site issues in collaboration with the project manager, consultants, and client representatives
Monitor progress against the project schedule and regularly report on status
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages open communication and mutual respect among all team members
